Casagrande filter unit is used to measure the water pressure in permeable soil. Filter unit is made in syntherised high density polyethylene. It is available in different models to suite all the customer applications. Filter units have threaded cap joint with two 0.5" twin tubes or with a 1.5" single tube. Standpipe piezometers are used to monitor the ground water table. The standpipe filter unit consists of a slotted tube covered by geotechnical fabric for filtered water entry. Stainless steel push-in filter unit is also available for drive-in piezometer installation in soft soils.

Casagrande & Standpipe Piezometers

Vibrating wire and electrical piezometers are used to measure soil pore pressure or water table level in boreholes. Applications include control of over-pressure in silt and clay soils, automatic measurement of ground water levels, measurement and control of permeability and monitoring uplift pressure and hydraulic gradients in dams and in natural or cut slopes. Output signals, suitable for transmission over long distances, are easily red and automated. The sensor is housed in a small stainless steel sealed body with a porous filter tip. Filters with different porosity are available to suit specific applications.

Piezometers and Pressure Transducers

In-place inclinometer (IPI) sensors are designed for automatic monitoring of critical locations. Jointed together and suspended inside the casing where deformation may occur, a string of IPI sensors allows to monitor the continuous profile of the inclinometer casing. Vertical and (sub)horizontal in-place inclinometers are equipped with magneto-resitive contactless pendulum, solid-state accelerometer or forcebalanced servo-accelerometer sensors. Separated signal cable is required for each IPI, but also a group of IPI can be linked together to have a single multicore cable output

In-Place Inclinometers, Beam Clinometers

The inclinometer probe consists of a wheeled torpedo equipped with force-balanced or solid-state accelerometers which provide high precision, durability and quick response. Sisgeo inclinometer probes can be used in conjunction with all commercial available inclinometer casing with ID grooves from 38 mm to 84 mm. Inclinometer probe is supplied with a robust anti-shock plastic ABS carrying case with place for the dummy probe too. Horizontal uniaxial accelerometer probe is also available for monitoring vertical movements (settlement or heave).

Servo-Inclinometer Probes and Archimede Datalogger

Fixed extensometer is usually defined as device placed in embankment fill or inside borehole for monitoring of settlement or heave between two points without use of a removable probe. Either the Settlement Platform and the Tell-Tale extensometer are based on a riser settlement rod which is respectively connected to a plate buried at the embankment foundation level or grouted inside borehole as a deep benchmark in a firm soil. Optical levelling measurements to the top of the riser rod provide precise monitoring. Electrical transducer can be used for remote readings without the need of survey crew.

Earth pressure cells (or total pressure cells) are used to monitor total pressure in earthfill dams and embankments or placed at the interface between the structure and the wall of excavation. Earth pressure cells are constructed from two stainless steel plates, welded together around their pheriphery. The anular space between these plates is filled under vacuum by deaired oil. Pressure pad is connected by means of a stainless steel tube to the transducer forming a closed hydraulic system. An electrical signal proportional to the applied pressure may be remotely read on a variety of portable readout units or dataloggers.
