Mitigating risk by monitoring
To continuously monitor the water conditions at the dam outlet, Surechem installed a telemetry station consisting of a Neon Remote Logger (NRL) 3004 connected to Aquaread AP-2000 Multiparameter Sonde, RIM7499 tipping bucket rain gauge, ChemScan mini Fe Analyzer, Geolux RSS-2-300W Surface Velocity Radar, and HCDAR-65 Radar Level sensor.
The built-in cellular modem in Neon Remote Logger transmits all of the data collected to Neon Application Software running on the client's server. Data is made available to project personnel through Neon Server Application Software and a single-page custom dashboard. User-defined thresholds can be configured through Neon Server Application Software and it will send alert messages to the project personnel, alerting them of the dam water quality conditions, rainfall, and flood events.
